4th June. Glasgow, Scotland and off on the West Highland Way.

Got into Glasgow and had a walk around the city centre. Not sure what to do and this bit of the city not really inspiring so we decided to purchase supplies and catch another train out to the town of Milgavie where The West Highland Way starts. Arrived in Milgavie in plenty of time and after speaking to a couple of gents who had just finished the walk and getting advice from them (and our photo taken) we decided to head off and see how far we could get today.

Didn't get very far and Annette is surrounded by bluebells and pinching herself.

Out of the tress and this is the sort of country we walked through.

Passed this turn off only seven miles out. Didn't work. (But I needed a drink after getting back up, won't do that again)

Stopped a short distance on for refreshments and got talking to a gent who was jogging by. He was amazed at what we were doing and offered to give us his details in case we needed any help or advice whilst were were over here as we didn't know anyone in the country. This is the second time this has happened. A young girl with two children on the ferry across from France also offered. Nice people.
Kept going to a tea house just past Dumgoyne. Closed but shower and toilet block open so pitched the tent in the area provided and had a much needed shower. The lady owner arrived and after paying her it was cook dinner and off to bed. We were very, very tired. Hardly any sleep for the last two nights and a very reasonable walk today. Didn't take long to get to sleep. Sore everywhere.
