25th June Last day maybe?

Awake at 4am with louts yelling. Rolled over. Awake at 4.15am with birds hooting to each other. Rolled over. Awake at 5.00am with truck traffic. Rolled over. Getting the picture? Awake at 7.00am and saw a cloud of midges between the outer and inner layers of the tent. Bugger. Up and out of the tent, midges not so bad outside, only looking for a place out of the breeze. Good breakfast this morning. Tried to contact home on Skype. No-one on line. Oh well 9.30 and we are off. This was at the caravan park. I just want one.

Didn't get very far and popped into a large hardware/nursery centre. Came away with a few good ideas and photos. Back into town and stopped at museum for a few minutes. (1.5 hrs later). Very interesting history of the town. It was in an old church and this is the first time I have seen stairs like this.

Roof like the bottom of a boat.

Off again and now half way through town when into an antique shop. Annette made a few small purchases which necessitated me having to go over the road and make a large withdrawal. Cute dog in the shop.

Hurray finally out of town and after a short walk along the trail we stopped for lunch at 2.30pm. Amazing variety of wild flowers in any given section of track.

Off again on a bit of boring section along the last bit before the sea. Broke the frame on my glasses so I'm one eyed from now on (Nearly blind so Annette can now have the map). Had a rest when we got to the coast and got talking to a couple and I set them straight on our new temporary prime minister. Having a well earned break.

River mouth.

We decided not to wild camp and to try to walk along the coast to a caravan park east of Buckie

Buckie and as far as we were concerned the end of the trail.

Got to the caravan park to find it was right on the coast and mostly all on site vans. Old but clean and ran by a very nice elderly couple. Plan to go back into town tomorrow to try to get my glasses fixed then further east to Port Soy to see the two day Scottish Boat Festival. Will catch the bus.
