4th July Rain.

Woke up to the wind and the rain. Judging by the puddles outside it had rained a bit last night. The wind got stronger and stronger and it still rained. We stayed put in the nice, dry wigwam.

This couple had the joy of packing up in the wind and the rain.

Made one attempt at walking to the bus and only got as far as the caravan park gates before we were forced to turn back. An hour or so later we had another go and only got 5 minutes up the road before we were forced to seek shelter under the hedge on the side of the road. Whilst we were squatting there I spotted one page of a paper and said to Annette that I may as well look at the page three girl whilst we are stuck here. She couldn't believe it when I opened it and there she was.

We were caught there for half an hour before we could get back to the caravan park. Waited it out again and made a third attempt and managed to walk the 20 minutes to the bus without getting too wet. Got into Edinburgh about 3pm. Visited the Palace of Holyroodhouse where the queen stays when she visits Edinburgh. The palace has the ruins of an abbey.

Part of the palace.

On the way back we stopped off at Burger King for a quick bite to eat whilst waiting for the bus. Whilst there a young lady sat at the next table facing us. Annette went off to the toilet and this young lady starts to remove her outer stockings right in front of me. Himm interesting I thought. Annette came back and asked me if I'd seen the bus go past. I told her that I hadn't been watching out for the bus. I had had other things on my mind. Annette sat down and the lass continued to remove the two under stockings right in front me. Well that was enough for Annette. She got straight up and said lets go. When we got outside Annette asked me what the hell was she doing. I told her I didn't know but it was free. (by the look of her I think it was advertising.) See, this trip is still educating her. Annette's only other comment was at least she had nickers on. I was left wondering if they would have been the next.

Back to the caravan park without getting too wet. Still really windy and I don't mean me. Been an interesting day. Booked ourselves into a hotel in Edinburgh for tomorrow night and then off on the Abbeys Way walk.
