Still raining. What to do? Stay or go? Decided too risky to try to find other accommodation in the area and didn't want to stay where we were so it was think positive and walk the next section to Sedbergh.Packed up what we could in the tent and then took everything up to the shower block and back and packed up the tent in the rain. Off on the walk. Since the Dales Way joined a minor road a couple of times today we decided to cheat and walk along the road instead of the track. Constant rain, wet track and our heavy packs. Low clouds and constant rain meant no view and there would have been lovely ones. This is what it was all day and I meant all day. The only photo taken because I didn't want to get the camera wet.
Walked into Dent and checked out a couple of camp sites but decided to keep going to Sedbergh. Dent very old town with small windy cobblestone streets. Got a hot chocolate and roll and off. By the time we arrived in Sedbergh we were soaked. Our wet weather gear had said enough was enough and had started to seep water. I couldn't blame it. Walked to the caravan park only to be told they don't take tents. So, why oh why did the signs show a tent and caravan? Back into town and I tell you at the end of the day an extra unnecessary mile or so hurts. Found accommodation for two nights at an old pub "The Bull" and gear put out to dry in the rear shed. Nice to have a long hot shower and cold not so bad tonight but Annette has caught it.
