12th July Hadrian's Wall.

Missed the first bus and had to wait for the 10.11am bus. Photo of the pub at Green head.

Got off the bus at Chesters Roman Fort and had a look around. Interesting.

Off walking along Hadrian's Wall. Another late start, 12.30pm. Going to make it a hard day. This is what the Romans built to keep out the Scots. Not much sign of the wall here.

Had to go up over a few fences today.

Trying to spot any hairy Scotsmen sneaking across. Great views both sides. Perfect day for walking.

Decided to walk down to the youth hostel  at Once Brewed. Aren't the names are just great. Arrived to find 45 odd ten year olds booked in and having a great time. Quick check and one last bus going back to Green Head. Waiting and praying for the last bus.

On the bus and back to the pub for a meal then shower and bed. Plan to catch the bus back to Once Brewed tomorrow and walk back to Green Head with only the day packs.
