31st of May. Visit to Hever.

Up and had that shower. Their house was incredible, for us anyway. The ceilings were low with wooden beams and the front door looked like it belonged to a castle. The shower was the size of a bath and had a gate about 3 feet high that you shut after you got in. Felt like you were in a sheep yard and looked like you could fill the whole thing up with water. Sorry I didn't take a photo to show everyone. Said good by and a big thank you and off to visit Hever. This was their house.

This is Hever Castle. Need I say any more.

Yes I suppose I can. The whole thing was pretty impressive. A large moat all round. Court yard. Village built behind which was very pretty but a shame you could not access it as people lived in the houses. And there was the garden, then the lake, then the bridge.... you get the drift..

Finished having a good look around and decided we would try to get somewhere near Sissinghurst tonight. Off we go back to the railway station and on the way the Norman Church was open so a quick look inside. (If there is one thing I have learnt, there is no such thing as a quick look at anything.) Lovely windows and a roof that looked like an upturned boat.

Back to the train station and in a round a bout way to Staplehurst station. There we managed to find another couple attempting to visit Sissinghurst so we shared a taxi and arrived in time to have a good look around. Hardly anyone there that late in the day so we just about had the place to ourselves. Great. This is a view of the tower house.

View from tower. A couple of happy people. There in the back ground, far right near the tree!!!!

Great view of the garden.

On of the many boarders in the garden.

This was, is the house.

Finished looking around the garden, lots to see, plenty of photos and got kicked out at closing time so we went for a wander around the estate. They have a lovely walk down to the pond at the back of the house. Plenty of bluebells still in flower.

This was an interesting gate set up. Very practicable. You pushed it down and stepped over it and it went back up. Great idea.

Nice pond at rear of property.

Well worth a visit and one of the ones on the top of our must list whilst in the UK. it was very nice to be there late in the day when everyone had gone. Back to Sissinghurst town where we found a quite place to wild camp in some farmers paddock.
