Packed up wet tent and wet everything else and off to visit the Abbey ruins in Jedburgh. Again very interesting town and Abbey ruins. Looked like you could spend a few days here. Signs all around saying free wifi.
Just one of the neat buildings near the Abbey.
Still love those steps. Like in a real castle, well Abbey today.
A well.
Caught the 11.10am bus to Newcastle and not impressed with the driver who was too aggressive. Case of seat belts on. Beautiful wild country up and over the border into England. Both feeling a little bit sad about leaving Scotland. Have seen some amazing country and the people have been great. We didn't get to see anywhere near what we wanted to. Into Newcastle and much bigger and interesting than what I thought it would be. Had to walk to another bus station to catch another bus and had to pay 1 pound for one of those stupid 3d maps to try to find the way. I really despise these maps. Got to the other bus station and found the staff to be totally different. Allowed to leave the packs there and even told where to go for a cheap quick meal. On the bus to travel across to the other side of the country to walk a couple of days along Hadrian's Wall. Got off at Green Head and booked in for the night at the youth hostel. Wet gear washed and hung out with the tent in the drying room overnight. Throat sore and had a meal at the pub then back to the youth hostel and bed. Planing to catch a bus back west for a two day walk back to the hostel.
