13th July Second day on Hadrian's Wall.

Up early and ready on time today. Left the heavy packs behind and off on the bus to Once Brewed. Got an early start walking and the weather beautiful.

Lovely views.

Not windy today but I see that's not always the case here. We have been very lucky.

Still a long way to go today.

One of the small forts they built into the wall every so often.

A recent quarry.

View over towards Scotland.

More of the natural barriers the wall was built along the top of.

The stone from the wall was used to build this Castle.

And then re used to build this house and outbuildings.

Back to Green Head early in the day. Washing done and in the drying room and back to the pub and managed to update the photos on the blog. At least you can see what we are up to.

Not eating as many chunky kit-kats lately. Tomorrow off on the bus to Carlisle then the train down to Skipton to start the Dales Way walk at Bolton Abbey.
