Left Paris and caught the train to Vernon. Arrived and Annette needed to spend a penny, sorry euro and got the fright of her life.
I just had to see this.
Missed to last bus to Giverny to see Monet's Garden so off on foot with the packs. This was the first time we have had to walk any distance with the packs and it was warm. Hard work for sure. Got to Giverny and garden closed and we found the last place in town to stay in a street which we were told was 500 years old. Here is why they now have higher windows. Annette is looking in at our bedroom.
Spread all our gear around and off for a walk around the town. Had a good look around the outside of Monet garden. Tried to get over the wall but as usual wasn't able to get the leg over when I wanted to.
Took a few photos over the fence and Annette didn't agree with me when I suggested that we had seen it all now. Back to where we were staying to find that the owner had been driving around town looking for us as the room had been booked. Gear packed up and a short drive to new gigs, me in the rear of the small delivery van. Nice bloke but I just wished he didn't have to turn around when he spoke to me or Annette. He spent more time looking through the rear window than the front and it was terrifying when the cars kept coming towards you on the wrong side of the road. Reminded me a lot of Annettes' uncle Freddy. The new place was much better than the old so all was well. Had a fancy bathroom and it took ages to work out how to get any water out of the shower. Get a look at this.
Annette said it was lucky for us that we went and got our international driving licences before we left.
